Well, here I am, the (not so) great Psion! I'm 19, male, and also a (apparently talented) femslash/yuri/shoujoai author of fanfiction... though that's based off of one fanfict at the moment.
Question! I know I've seen the monk anim in your avi before, but the question remains: why is the anim of a Monk kicking? Monks are known for their fist-oriented combat abilities, and it is a travelling Monk who has developed strong legs that begins the quest to become a Taekwon, who do use their legs for attacking.
So, why is it a Monk?

...ok, well, that is a question... not one I was expecting though... I didn't make the avatar; I found it. Why it's kicking, I don't know, but it's probably because kicking is cooler looking than punching.
As to why it is a monk: if you meant why I chose a monk for my avatar, it's because I 1.) Liked the image, and 2.) I'm a martial artist myself... though Krav Maga is something no Monk would EVER practice.
Well, to answer the one question; I've written fanfics that I *haven't* posted for Love Hina, Mahou Sensei Negima, and Naruto. I don't just write about anime's though, I've written ones for X-men, Harry Potter, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, and several requests from friends for obscure anime's that I've never heard of.
However, the only 'published' one is a Harry Potter fanfiction on FF.net, so any anime one's may be a while yet.
...Just kidding ^_^, I have no problem with Judo, and I mostly like Krav Maga due to it's relative brutal efficiency anyway. Plus, I've never really been an 'honorable' fighter anyhow, and what art do you all know of that suggests groin shots/grabs and eye gouging as legitimate methods of defense?

Any other questions?
Hahaha, I see--Monk sprites are far cooler than Taekwon sprites anyways (if you're unaware, it's a sprite/based on a sprite from the MMORPG Ragnarok Online), so it's WAYOK! Plus, it's admiringly well-animated, and the bobbing strand of hair is the proverbial icing on the cake (I think I actually have the same animation buried somewhere in my computer...).
That said, it's cool that you're a martial artist yourself! I've personally been thinking to look into taking that same Krav Maga and Akido (yes, I'm aware that the two diciplines completely contradict eachother), but I'm way out of shape and I don't think I could manage time for either responsibly at the moment. So they're filed away under "things to do" with learning violin, CG animation, and acting lessons, etc.. I've always been of the thought that if one was to get into a fight, especially so if there is something important at stake, that victory or sufficient completetion of an objective (ex. hindering a threat long enough to get you and/or someone else out of danger) comes far before any sense of honor.
You're a writer? And of things like fanfics, too? Whee, another writer friend~ I'm personally trying to write things of my own, but I keep getting snagged with the translation from 'concept of what happens' to 'getting it out in word format,' although my writing skills are at least solid, and I can do well past that snag. Do you ever have this problem?
You seem like a very interesting person, and I would very much like to befriend you~, although I must admit that I occasionally speak in terms that do not translate to male well (my guy friends often get confused or left behind while we talk). -LT
PS: @Joe: Nowai! Lord Knights! RAWR
....or at least 2-hander/spear hybrid Knights.
Monks follow as 2nd coolest, and Paladins are 3rd, such as the eternal pan-server Aoi, who usually ends up as the uselessly-underpowered Agi/2H-Spear Pally.

I took a class on Krav maga over the summer, but haven't gotten a chance to look into it (something about living on an island does that). Judo is fun, just because you get to throw people. But brutal efficiency is always fun D:
Going from the mind to the paper is probably the most difficult part of writing, for most people anyway. I don't have that problem, because writing is the easiest way for me to communicate (I had to take 3-4 years of speech classes, and even then I have to focus more and try harder to speak, it's not quite what one would consider an impediment, but it is a hurdle that makes it more difficult) I can better articulate my thoughts on paper/screen than I can verbally.
However, I have a problem of coming up with way too many ideas, and giving up on the previous ones to work on a new one. I have begun the writing of at least 200 works of fanfiction, and at least 75 works of original fiction, but only completed 3 fanfics and 1 original fiction. That's my problem, though I'm slowly correcting it. Oh, and I have an exceptionally bad writer's bias (where I find flaws that no one notices or believes to be a flaw). That one's a royal bi.... er... 'witch' to deal with.
The advice I can give you is to go slowly and deliberately; don't force the process. It may take longer, but the work will be better, and you'll have to edit less. Also think sentences/paragraphs/pages in advance; everything has to flow and transition well. A beta reader is also helpful, as is a lot of self-editing, but that's for a different portion of the writing process lol. Oh, and one more tip: sometimes it's actually better to get going on a work and develop it as you go. It's not the 'recommended' process, but sometimes it stimulates ideas and gets you 'in the groove' to get the translation process going.
Oh, and I'm glad you find me interesting, and don't worry about trying to translate into male; 90% of my friends are female, so I can understand pretty well lol. You seem interesting yourself btw, and I wouldn't mind befriending you as well, Milady of the Twilight ^_^ (sorry, but I thought that sounded cool)
